I came to US on an F1 visa. I got my degree and currently on OPT.
My company has applied for H1B for me and it was approved. I was planning to go to mexico/canada to get my visa stamped.
My F1 visa expires JAN 2004.

1. Is there any chance of denying visa stamping in either of these places?
2. If denied, should I go back to my home country and come back or is there any other way to come in?
3. Is Mexico better than Canada?

-thanks

1.chances of denial- very very less
2. Go to home country
3. Those have gone say so. Take all your documentation with you.

F1 to H1B Mexico

Please keep in mind that third countries are not obligated to issue the visa. If the third country denies you your visa, and you do not have a valid visa in your passport, you will not be allowed to re-enter the US, which means that you will have to return to your home country to apply for a visa at the US consulate.

Anna - Do you suggest people like sunil or also in my case (where i need stamping) go to home country. Is it more advisable?

Thanks

It is advisable to go to the home country for stamping - but, the decision is entirely up to you.

Hi anna,
I have a H1 aproval till 06/2004. I do not have a multiple entry stamped on my passport. I am planning to go to india in dec 2003. So, I will have only 6 months left on my H1 from dec.
Is there a chance to deny since I have only 6 months left?
Is it advisable to go to india in dec or should I wait till I get the next extension.

-Sunil
