Error in H1/H4 B petitioner field on approval notice what to do?

Guys,
My friend got there H1 and H4 ( extentions) approval notices with wrong names mentioned in petitionar name they only discovered it when they went for stamping. Now they are stuck in India. Does anybody have idea what would be the remedy and how long it normally takes.
Are there any implications like out of status etc....
Any answer is appreciated.
 
If they are in India they need not worry about out of status.

They have to file H1 amendment with the regular fees. But they can explain in a letter that (if) INS made the mistake and you need consular notification. Their company lawyer should be able to fix the problem.
