Hi everyone,
I’m the principal applicant for DV-2026 (case number 2026AF30XXX). We are South African nationals currently residing in the GCC. I’ll be attending the visa interview with my spouse and kids. However, I also have another child who is not resident with us but intends to join us for the interview and immigrate to the U.S. with us. This child lives with their mother (my ex), and we share parental rights.
I’d appreciate guidance from anyone who has been through a similar situation or has knowledge of the process:
- What documents are required from the child’s mother to allow the child to immigrate with me?
- Is a notarized letter of consent sufficient, we don't have a custody document (we settled amicably)
- Should the letter be in English and notarized in the country of residence or origin?
- Are there any embassy-specific requirements I should be aware of?
I want to ensure everything is in order before the interview is scheduled.
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
