MY CASE is as follows; (typical unlucky case)

EB2/RIR
I-485 transfered from VSC to CSC (03/5/01) WAC 01-136-5****
FP Done : 11/05/00 (1 year ago)
I-485 RFE received 3/28/01(about I-140 amendment due to company name change)
I-140 filed(04/09001)
I-140 Receipt(05/15/01) WAC 01-179-5****
1st FAX inquiry on pending I-140 amendment (9/4/01)
2nd Fax inquiry on pending I-140 & 485 (10/18/01)
Heard case was assigned to officer (10/24/01)
Today : Nothing happened ! Same bull-shit AVM all the time.
Still waiting for Amended I-140 approval & I-485 approval

I got amended I-140 RFE for my I-485. Now the amended
I-140 has been approved. What I try to ask is,
1): how long I-585 will have result?
2): Do I need to inform INS that amended I-140 has been approved?

I am in the same boat

I got my RFE for amended I-140 on Jan 28 01.
Then there was another RFE on Sep 19 01 on amended I-140 to fillout
the labor forms and send them to INS, absolutely crazy. No idea
what they will do with the labor forms. I dont know if this was
a requirement which my lawyer did not know or INS created a new
requirement on the fly.

FP: Nov 00
First RFE : Amended I-140 : Jan 28 01
Replied RFE: March 23 01
Acknowledged RFE reply: May 01
Second RFE: Sep 19 01 to send Labor forms with a new job entry added for the changed company name
Approval: I-140 : ? forever
Approval: I-485 : ? forever

Ask your attorney to contact INS and adjudicate your I-1485 based
on your approved amended I-140.

Now it will 3 months since my new I140 approval. But no signs of I485 approval. CSC WAKE UPPPPPPP !!!!

I am also in the exact same situation as you are. I was also
asked to send the Labor forms while my I-140RFE is still pending
for approval. I am not really sure what INS is looking for. Please
let me know if you hear any good news.. I got done my Medical in
Aug-2000 at the time of applying for 485. Now it is more than a
year and I am just praying that INS will not ask us to get the
medical again.

Let\'s hope for the best..
 
Is there any limit for valid medical exam ?

Becuase my case is more severe! I actually did my medical exam in
Jan, 2000 (It\'s already almost 2 years) If there is really that kind
of limitation like 1 year or 1.6 year etc. THIS iS REALLY Disastor for me. PLEASE CLARIFY IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING. PLEASE
 
That is sad. But I have seen on this board that

one guy has I-485 approve at the same day as its RFE I-140 approve.
And I also have seen one msg that I-485 get approved at just one month later after its RFE I-140 get approved.
 
Medical Exam.. One year limit?

Some poeple on this board mentioned that they had to get medical done after one year.
I am not sure whether this is a requirement or is a random case. Hope it is random
 
When is AVM updated ? Anybody know ?

I usually check AVM everyday but I am really curious about when
AVM is updated ?(for example, 7 PM everyday or midnight ? or
once a week(likely not)
If you have any clue, please let me know.
 
From a DBA point of view,

It should be 9:00 PM or later.
Assume the INS staff will leave office at 6:00PM,
it will take 3 hour for INS DBA to update the the database.
 
RFE 140 Amendment receipt

I replied to RFE 140 Amendment do I get a receipt from INS for this ?
 
Medical exam will not be expired according to attorney\'s answer.

This is email from my attorney.
"
For my pending I-485, how long will medical exam be valid ?

--The medical will not expire.
--Fingerprints can expire but the medical will not so long as it is
submitted to the INS within a year of visiting the Dr."
 
Another RFE after 7 month wait ...................................

I have been waiting for my Amendment I-140 approval(This was RFE for
my pending I-485) for 7 months but I heard AVM message is updated last Saturday(11/17/01) and it says" RFE was sent ....."
I cannot belive this thing. How can they send RFE for RFE again ???
this is my detail:

ND : 04/15/00 (I-485)
FP : 11/04/00
1st RFE received : 03/28/01 (I-140 amendment)
ND: 05/15/01 (Amendment I-140)
AVM update: 11/17/01(CSC sent RFE letter at 111/08/01 on I-140 case number)

Anybody out there who has similar case with me ?

jkwon, same situation here

I have been waiting for my I-140RFE approval since March-2001.
About two weeks ago I received another RFE asking for Labor
Certification through your company. I guess your Labor Approval
( like mine ) is with your old company, so INS wants us re send the
Labor Certification with the new company\'s name.

I am not sure when this thing will come to an End.

My Case Details

I-485 -- Aug - 2000
I-140RFE - Feb - 2001
Replied for I-140RFE in March -2001
Second RFE : Oct 20th - 2001 ( For labor certification)
Replied 2ndRFE -5th Nov

AVM updated for 2nd RFE : 14th Nov
