Do they check tax returns as part of the green card approval process?

I’m here on an H1-B and about to file a PERM. Last year I messed up and, on advice of friends, signed up for Upwork and took on two paid jobs. I realized as my second job started that my visa didn’t allow this kind of work. I stopped after that job and haven’t done any work on the side since. Total income about $10K.

I’m filing my taxes and worried as my green card gets processed they’ll ask for these tax returns, notice the problem and I’ll get kicked out. I know this was wrong now but it was an honest mistake I’ve fixed since.

What are the chances they’ll check this year’s tax returns as part of my Green Card application?
