Divorce after filing I-751 jointly

Hi everyone

I am a US citizen but my now ex husband is from Ivory Coast. We got married 4 years ago and he obtained the green card. A few months back, he applied for the condition to be removed and file I-751 jointly. We just got divorced 2 weeks ago and today, he received a notice of interview.

What’s the next step here? I know he needs to send a waiver but how does it work? Is there a form or does he just need to send a copy of the divorce certificate plus explanation or the reason for the divorce + more proof of good faith mariage?
we have a 3 year old boy together and I don’t want him to lose his residence. He cannot afford a lawyer.

thank you for the help.

On I-751 he can choose the basis for filing as divorce. But I am not sure, since he already filed I-751 jointly, whether he would need to fill out a new I-751 selecting divorce as the basis, or whether he can just inform the officer to change the case to a divorce case without filing a new form.
