Delay the Oath by 6 months?

I am in SFO district.
I have my citizenship interview at SFO office next friday.
I am travelling to India on 1st June, getting a OCI and renuniciation of indian passport can take in excess of 3 months.

I wanted to know if I can delay the subsequent oath process by 6 months till say August 15th?
would that be an issue.

delaying the trip is not an option

Another option is to delay interview first by rescheduling it. You can even re-scheule twice to stonewall the process.

If you do not go to the Oath Ceremony, you’ve got to return the Form N-445,’Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony’ to your designated nearby USCIS business office. You ought to also incorporate a letter explaining why you were not able to generate it towards the scheduled ceremony. The USCIS will then reschedule your Oath Ceremony date and can mail you a fresh Form N-445 (Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony) which will hold the ceremony specifics.Its not advisable to do this unless and until its really unavoidable.
