Degree evaluation by university of Toronto only?

Hi,
I am going to apply for TN Visa in January 2019. My degree is B.Sc. in Applied mathematics major in computer science from Iran.
I provided my degree to icascanada to be evaluated and then going to take that to border in addition to other documents to get TN-Visa.

In one of the post in this page someone said that she got denied by officer because her degree was not evaluated by University of Toronto. Now I am nervous because I don't have much time to evaluate my degree by UOFT.

Can someone confirm that degree evaluation should be done by UOFT only?
Anybody has experience getting TN Visa with a degree evaluated by an institution other than UOFT?

My next question which is not as important as first one is: because I am Canadian and Iranian, can they deny TN Visa based on Muslim ban law?

Thanks a lot in advance

Evaluations can be done by many firms. For the US agent to insist that it be done by a "foreign" agency such as UofT was ridiculous, and may have been as a result of a misunderstanding of the nervous petitioner. There are others, like WES, that have proven quite satisfactory over the years, and still are.

Thanks Nelsona. You put me on ease
What do you think about icascanada as I am using them to evaluate my degree?
Do you think Muslim ban law going to affect Iranian Canadian application for TN-Visa?

I know nothing about icas. I just know that a CBP officer has no right to require a specific firm to do it.
You are Canadian, so not subject to ban, regardless of birth country.

Thanks Nelsona, ITguy
I am going to apply under "Computer Systems Analyst" professions.
Should the job offer I am receiving from recruiter use "Computer Systems Analyst" exactly as my title? My official title will be Production Support Specialist.
Not sure if they will accept related title in job offer or not.

Should I present my resume to officer as well? if yes, my past experiences are mixed of development and support...can this cause a red flag as he may think I have been developer for my whole carrier? Do I need to provide references as well?

Resume is of no value. Your TN is based solely on degree and job description matching.
If experience were to be necessary, as in some TN categories, only letters from former colleagues, supervisors and clients would be required.
Forget resume and references, this is not the job interview.

Thanks again Nelsona,
So how do they validate 3-years on experiences?
This is my first TN-visa application. In addition to Degree and Job Offer...Do you I need to download and fill any form?

Can you stick to your plan? You have a degree and a CSA job. You don't need anything else. For more info on unrelated aspects of TN, please find a another website. You have asked 12 questions already.

Not sure which of these questions are not related to TN...
How officer validate and check if you have 3-years of experience without resume?
Is there any form we have to fill to present to officer?
Job title "Production Support Specialist" can be granted under CSA?

As nelsona mentions, focus on requirements for TN authorization NOT whether you are eligible for the job. Clearly you were eligible which is why you got the job offer. You present to the officer:
  1. Passport
  2. TN package
  3. Degree along with evaluation if required
  4. Birth certs of spouse and kids along with their Canadian passports IF you plan to get their TD on the spot
Nothing else (not your resume, letter of recommendation etc.) Is required

Do we need to provide original TN letter with signature? or we can ask Employer to scan and email the TN Letter and print it?

The reprinted one is usually fine; the important thing is that the person should be available for contact at the time of border crossing, should there be any suspicion of its validity, or any other questions. Might save you a second trip.

Happy new year Nelsona. Thanks for being available and answer the questions.
I will be working as contractor and my salary will be calculated daily. In most of TN letter salary is mentioned as annual income. Am I going to have lesser chance if they mentioned my salary daily in TN letter?

Whatever the remuneration arrangement is (hourly, weekly, etc) it should be spelled out. they are all fine,

Hi,

I’m a Canadian with a 3 year bachelor of business (IT) degree from India and after doing some research on TN1visa I realized that I may not eligible for TN1 because of my educational credentials. My bachelors degree had 6 semesters and wondering if there is an evaluation that can qualify me for TN status.

Any advice is highly appreciated.
