I can't access immigrationvoice.org from work but accessing immigrationportal.com hasn' t been an issue. What is it about IV that causes the company proxy to block this site but not immigrationportal.com. Any help from IV guys on this will be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you try and see if you can access the home page atleast?

Do you guys have any restriction for visiting websites from your office?

You must be probably the only person who cannot view the IV website and I am tending to think that this is due to some corporate restrictions that might be in place! What kind of error message do you get? Is it 404 not found or time out?

I get the following error message:

"This page has been blocked by CompanyName's automated filtering system."

I know that immigrationvoice.org has been blocked by the company's proxy but what I don't understand is why. As far as the content of the web site goes, both sites (immigrationportal and IV) have similar contents and both don't contain any inflamatory or porn contents so why would one get blocked and not the other.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with IV. I am just saying what content or script in IV would cause the company proxy to block IV web site while the proxy is fine with the immigrationportal web site.

Am I the only one with this issue? Hard to believe though.
 
There are web sites which evaluate a given URL / URI - Web Sense comes to mind.
Run this URL by them and see what it reports. That could be why proxies / filters cut
it out.

That makes the two of us here, though my browser at work times out saying that this URL could not be retrieved ( :confused: ). I did try to change the proxy/connection settings, but it still does not work. I will let you know if I am able to figure something out here.

tell them ur story in ur own words...let the letter has ur name address fone and email....
it takes 5 cents to fax..and 10 minutes of ur time
i faxed and i got reply from 2 of them already ...
guess we live in different states and we can cover a lot of people...tell them abt the bills pending....
take 15 minutes of ur time from bitching uscis and crying in this forum...
they goona hear us
