Changed Employers!

Hi,

I was working for Company A before and right now I shifted to Company B. I have a multiple entry visa [H1-B] with Company A until Seprember 2008. Here are my questions:

1. Since I have shifted employers, do I need to have a fresh multiple entry visa if I wanted to go to India?

2. Can I apply for my multiple entry visa with St.Louis branch?

3. What is the processing time with St.Louis branch and what is the relevant web-site?

4. I need to visit India in December, while my H-1B transfer is still under process. Can I take an appointment in Canada in the meanwhile after I get my approval notice?

Attorney's Advice

Hi,

My attorney told me that as long as I have a multiple entry visa, I need not worry about re-entry into USA, despite working for a different employer. Obviously, the only place I might be required to give some explanation is when I meet the immigration officer at my port of entry. If I have the valid job offer letter, that should be sufficient!

I had this question because the rules are getting updated periodically and now the air has been cleared!
