Chat User : Hi, Sheelaji. Good evening. My I-485 was approved two months back and stamped on my passport. Do I need to renew my H1B before 6 months expiry of H1B?

Attorney Murthy : Gosh, no. Why would you want to renew your H1B when you are already a permanent resident? The INS will probably not approve your case, and if they do, they will assume that you no longer want to maintain your permanent resident status and are opting to revert to nonimmigrant H1B status. Please do not do that since it is not wise at all, unless I am missing something in this equation?
