Canadian Citizen with H4 at the border needs H4 stamping to re-enter US?

Hi guys,

I'm a H1-B visa holder working in the US. My spouse is a Canadian citizen & we got married on Aug 16th in India. She got back to Canada & would be moving to the US in October 1st week. I understand she'd be able to get her H-4 at the POE without a problem.

My question is: She'll be going to Canada for a vacation in December - Does she need to get her H-4 stamped when she's coming back to the US? Much appreciated if I get some confirmation at the earliest.

Thanks ALL!

In October she will be granted an I-94 on her passport giving her H-4 status. In December, when she makes that trip to Canada, tell her NOT to surrender her I-94 upon entry to Canada. On her re-entry, she just needs to show that I-94.

Thanks Triple Citizen. Are you sure about this - I heard once you get out of the US, a visa "stamp" is required on the passport to grant re-entry. Just confirming.
