can fingerprinting be delayed ?

My lawyers are reading with filing 485/AP/EAD for my wife and me. But unfortunately my wife has to leave the country due to family medical reasons. She will be out of the country for probably 2-3 months. So, now the question is if we file for the above and we get a FP notice, can we delay it till she returns back ? Any other suggestions ?????

Thanks aztec99. We filed our 485 on Jan 8th 2007 and I cant believe it but today I already received fingerprint notice for my wife. Now, I do see that option, but I am not sure by how many days this can be delayed. Also, is it a good idea to get my fingerprints done now and postpone only for my wife (who is out of the country) or should we both do it together.

you should do yours first, don't delay anything if you can make it to the appointment.
maybe you should write a letter indicating when your wife will be back.
they should reschedule accordingly.
is your 485 processing in TSC or NSC?
 
Walk in on wednesdays??

Isn't there an option to walk-in on Wednesdays to the ASC?
I don't see that on the appointment notice but my lawyer says it can be done so.
