Can a foreign country sponsor my TN-1 visa?

Hello!
My UK based company is looking to send me to their US office for a few months. They are not incorporated there but the employees all work as independent contractors for the UK team. I am a Canadian and looking to go on the TN-1 visa. Can I apply if my job offer is not from a registered US business?

Any help would be absolutely appreciated.
