Called INS Re: status of I-485 petitions - Stilll Pending

We called the Nebraska Service Center this morning and spoke to an officer
who said that they are running approximately 2 weeks behind their normal
processing time. And processing times are subject to change. If we haven\'t
received your approvals within a month, we will call them again.

IS THIS TRUE AFTER 9/11 ATTACKS, THEYA RE DOING BACK GROUND CHECKS TO ALL APPLICANTS????

Dear Friends, even my attorney told me that they are checking back ground checks thoroughly after september 11 attacks, I read here too one of their attorney also told the same, and that is one of the reason for delay. Well, if some one talks to IIOs pl post your info and conversation here at this site, that will help all of us in sharing the info.
Thanks, RAMUKESI

My question is why only NSC doing this check up, but other service centers don\'t, look VSC many people were approved with ND in January.
They are speeding up, now their processing time is 9 month,
but NSC they are cleaning their backlog--April, May, Jul cases.
At the same time lots of Auguest and September cases got their RFE.
It seems they issur RFE to everbody.

Talked to IIO today...Rd: 20-oct-00...//

Today, I talked to IIO, He said your attoreny called us on last monday..
we have already told the status to him..then I said according to my attoreny
that NSC is processing Rd:20-OCT-00 and we are very close...
then he said nothing then I asked how long we have to wait...He said
wait for another 3 month. then I asked are you sure ?? then what is
330-360 Days..he says it is taking longer than that...but it may be possible
that sooner than 3 month...in your case to assign to officer...
Has any one Idea what he wants to say..or they are replying to every one
wait for 3 month..like their AVM machine..???
