Blanket L1 visa approved on I-129s but no L1 stamp due to valid B1 visa

Today my visa L1-A visa petition was approved for me and L2 for my wife and child. Once approved, the officer signed 2 copies of the I-129S but did not stamp the passport with a new L1 visa and said that he didn't want to cancel my existing B1. My family's passports were kept for stamping and will be returned shortly.

Do I need to insist on a separate L1 visa stamp or can I enter with B1/I-129S?

Thanks for the replies.

L1 B - Visa Interview immediately after US return on B1-Visa..

Hi,

This is regarding my L1 - B Visa Interview -
I have returned from US to India on B1-Visa (July 24th 2013) recently and my total duration of stay in US is 133 days (4.5 months). My I-94 was given for 6 months till Sept,2013.

Now, my company is planning for L1-B Visa processing and I have submitted related documents this week

Below are my queries -

1. Can I eligible to attend L1-B Visa Interview after 2 months from now, As my duration of stay in US on B1-Visa is a bit high (4.5 months)? If not what should be minimum number of months of gap do I need to wait?

2. Can I eligible to travel US on B1 Visa for next time? If Yes, Do I foresee any kind of hurdles during PORT of ENTRY?

Appreciate your help.

Please advise on this.

Thanks,
Pradeep.
