Biometrics at a different location other than, where it is allocated to

Hi,

My son goes to college in a state, which is quite far from where we live. We do not want to apply his N-400 from his school's state, because of his summer plans and also since he is moving to a different apartment during next fall. To avoid address change, lost mail, etc., we plan to apply his N-400 from our state. My question is, to avoid multiple trips, when once we receive the boimetrics notice, if we can forward the mail to him, can he go to his local biometrics center with that notice and get it done and come home only for his interview or should the biometrics happen only at the center it is allotted to (which will be our state)

Thanks Sm1smom. How does this work? On the date and time given on the boimetric notice, walk into another ASC or should this be rescheduled?

Don’t reschedule the appointment. He can walk into a none assigned ASC on or before the scheduled date. If challenged, he can politely explain he’s out of town on his assigned date and unable to visit his assigned ASC.
