B2 to H1B

Dear Friends

I have been comming to the U.S past 3 years on business development... but during this present visit i got a job offer from an IT firm and they would apply for my H1.
The company has told me to remain in the U.S after they have applied for the H1 and they have also said that i can be here leagally even though my B2 expires until i get an approval.
After i get my approval can i get my wife here? without going back to India and also is it true what the company claims that it would be leagal to be in the U.S even if the B2 visa expires till i get the approval to work here?

Please advise and thanks in advance.

That means you do not recommend to try for this change of status.
Then what should i do to take this job opportunity is there no other way please advise.

Hi just9 I think i have the sam prob

I am a doctor who will be going to US on B1/B2 and want to get an H1B. I am worried about coverting my status because I also don't want to go home. If you have any other info please post here what you suggest. Thanks!
