As a USC, Can one sponsor GC mother-in-law?

I filed USC couple of months ago after completion of 5 yrs in GC. My husband got his GC 2 yrs after me. My question is once I get my USC (could be in the next 4-6 months), Can I sponsor GC for my mother-in-law (husband's mother)? Instead of waiting for my husband's USC for another 2 yrs, we would like to see if I can use my USC to sponsor mother-in-law.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Your GC husband can invite them on a visitor's visa, many GC holders do that, with almost 100% success.
Your in-laws are not considered immidiate relatives (IR), so you cannot petition for them.
Cheers!

I suspect you are celebrating at the moment.
2 more years of freedom without mother-in-law :D

That's what I was about to say.... :D

However, most in-laws simply get a US visa and visit,
for as long as they can.... :( (unless they are from
countries where US visas are hard to come by)
