applying GC for parents

My parents are currently holding visitor visas which were allowed to stay for 6 months. I got the citizenship and about to apply the GC for them. Can they stay here without renewal once after I filed the GC application? Or do I have to file something to help them stay here while waiting for the application being approved?

as far as i understand once you apply i130 and i485 on their behalf they do not have to worry about expired i94. they go into "waiting to adjust" status.

by the way do you know if you have to file a separate i130 and a separate i485 for each of your parent? or do you just file for your dad and mom gets it automatically.
