AP will not be given in Local INS office even in case of Emergency (death)

Bad news is that you have to go to a local UCIS office. This means very long waiting. Another guy just got AP from local office (http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?threadid=103041).

The local offices are refusing to handle, even in dire emergency. Recently even a faxed death certificate did not move them but as soon as the certificate was sent to Texas, where the AP petition had been filed, the AP was sent immediately.
Sorry abt the loss
Even we tried in Atlanta for emergency AP in Sep-03 when my wife brother had severe accident back india, they refused to give saying that my original 485 address is houston (yes my 485 address is houston), then she traveled to Houston to get the emergency AP and she got it. They did not grant me AP, because the patient is not my immidiate brother. They say emergeny AP is only for parents/kids/brother/sister, no in-laws.
