Looks Like Not Many April Mailers are waiting for approval. Can we send a Fax Inquiry??

I was looking at fax inquiry form and it suggests that fax inquiry should be sent if your case is older than the processing times in JIT which INS publish every month.

Any comments Please...
 
gcfriend, How do you know case is not yet assigned? When did you talked to IIO?

I think case should be assigned by now. I\'m not even able to get hold of IIO to find out about the status? Any idea how to get hold of some IIO?

I am not on any list, but have been using this forum for all the really useful information here.

here are my details.

Priority date - July 2000

Receipt Date for I485 - Apr 30, 2001

Notice date for I485 - July 9th, 2001

Advance parole received on July 21st, 2001

EAD approved on Dec 12th 2001

AVM updated to "On dec 29th the results of your fingerprint...."

Spoke to I.I.O. on Feb 11th, who said the case had not yet been assigned but I could send an inquiry. Accordingly advised my lawyers to do the same. The enquiry was faxed on Feb 12th.
Spoke to IIO yesterday, and found out the case was approved on Feb 19th. The AVM also reflects the approval.

Will wait for the approval notice.

Looks like for April mailers, sending an inquiry may help a lot.
 
JIT says 01/01,so I am not sure....

My RD=4/26,WAC-01-222-xxxxx. The JIT report showed 01/01,so I am not sure we can send fax now. My lawyer said that you should not too pushy and it will have negative effect on your case. I do not know if it is true or not.

Hi Jimmy!

I am not sure which form my lawyers used. When I spoke to her, she was not very enthusiastic, but agreed to send a "level 1 enquiry" (if that helps).
I will ask her what she filled in the form and get back to you when I can. My impression from talking to the IIO on Feb 12th was that if your file was essentially ready for adjudication (which it was since Dec 29th) then if it has been 6-8 weeks after that, then one can send an enquiry. That is what I told my lawyers and they sent an enquiry after that.
