Can you post if you did a fax enquiry or have written to congressmen or not?
Why am I getting this feeling after reading a few posts that cases are being touched 'only' when you approach INS in either of the above two ways ?

Please post details in this format.

WAC # :

1. Fax Enquiry (Y/N) :

[If yes, post date & name of the congressperson]

Fax inquiry made on April 23, 2004.
Did not contact congress.
Case touched: 04/27/04 (for me, my wife and son), and then again on 05/04/04 (for me and my wife).

However, the status did not change in any of these updates.

Hope you can find a pattern in these random events.

Changed in touch date to April 20, 04. Wait to see if congressional unit inquiry will do its magic.

You have to create a portfolio account on the USCIS website. This is on the same page that you go to when you wish to check your status online. The instructions for setting up the account are easy to follow.

Case Touched 5/13/04

I am posting after a long time on this board..

WAC: 02-134-5xxxx (for me & my wife)

Did not contact congress/senator. Didn't fax anything.

Touch date: 5/13/04 (used to say something different for my wife's case, and my touch date was 10/22/02 prior to today)

Looks like this - I am not sure if the trend is right unless we see more posts here.

If your ND is within JIT, then if you contact either INS/Congress, it is making a difference (from what I see in other threads in the forum)
If it is out of the JIT, touch dates change, but thats it. Nothing more/less. They probably change the touch date, whenever they pull the file to see the details for the enquiry made. But then if the ND does not fall within JIT, they donot seem to do anything but change touch date. So frankly looks like contacting INS/congress is not making a difference.
If any of you can read the trend better, I would love to hear your opinions. Please post. Thanks.
 
Did a fax inquiry two weeks back. Nothing, Nada, No response from USCIS.
Last updated date stayed the same 1/23/2004 when my 2nd FP were received
by USCIS.

touch dates changed twice
1st time at 5/4/04 and the
2nd time at 5/21/04 but no approval yet

thinking of sending fax enquiry

Interesting. My touch date also changed on 5/21. Now it is 5/21 for me but still the old for my wife

Also got a fax from USCIS saying that my ND is not within the JIT date.
So that touch date is going to be useless.

But it does mean that the process works

Sent a Fax enquiry.
ND : 22 - March - 2002
Touch date : 5/21/04

Sent a Fax enquiry asking for FP and making sure if the address on file was right.

Touch date changed to 5/25 for myself today not for my hubby who is the primary applicant.

WAC-02-140
Touch date for my hubby shows 5/04/04

No change in Status - Current status is FP received after our second FP in Jan 2004.

Hope something good is on the way SOOOOON!!!
