5 yrs on L1A, howlong can I stay if I get h1 now

Hi All,

I am in the US on L1A, going to complete 5 yrs this month. Tried to apply for H1B this year, recruiter is ready to apply but she says we can stay only for another 1 year...is this true that L1 stay is also counted wen calculating 6 yrs max period for H1B...pls advice.

One year is correct. After that you must be outside the us for a year to reset your allowable time.
