212(e) 2 year home residency + Asylum - Can you get GC

Has anyone previously subject to 212(e) - 2 year home residency requirement via J-1 visa received asylum +GC? I just want to make sure I am eligible for a GC if I get asylum. Any experience is helpful, thanks.
 
You will be fine. Grant of asylum is a waiver of your two year residency rule.

See 8 CFR 209.2(b)

"An applicant for adjustment under this part who has had the status of an exchange alien nonimmigrant under section 101(a)(15)(J) of the Act, and who is subject to the foreign resident requirement of section 212(e) of the Act, shall be eligible for adjustment without regard to the foreign residence requirement if otherwise eligible for adjustment."
 
Thank you. I have seen that too - but I've also seen something contradicting it so I am still a bit worried. I wonder if anyone had a similar experience and had a problem or had it resolved. I just panic about it so much.
 
So you are almost in same situation with me J-1 and applied for asylum. Hope it will be approved soon.
