I have read a few posts about a temporary stamp, and don't know if I understood correctly.
If you are waiting for the INS letter telling you to go to the office for your stamp after the do the additional security checks (or release the 'freeze') can you in the meantime get a temporary stamp that would allow you to leave the country?
My girlfriend was approved in her interview on November 6th, but she is waiting for the letter to tell her to go to the INS office for the stamp. We are desperate to leave the country for vacation on December 15th.
