Is the letter "person no longer with us" from the previous employer same as "revoking - I-140" or are they two separate things?

If your old company sends a letter to CIS just saying that you dont work for them anymore, is that the same as asking CIS to revoke the I-140?
Arent they two separate things? By just saying "x" doesnt work with us, does that mean they are asking the I-140 to be revoked?

I have a basic Question about EAD/AP as well.
I guess if you have a 485 pending (>180 days and 140 approved) and you have a valid EAD/AP, then if you are laid off you will not go out of status and you can find another job based on the EAD/AP .
How is this different...

Since most of us are stuck in the name-check process, should we trying calling the FBI? Rahul Kumar's doc has some numbers.

Looks like a batch of June filers have their 140s approved and all are waiting for the "name check" to clear for their 485s.

I called the Emergency Number ( - 3007) and the lady said my case was pending.
Also, there was no change in the LUD the next day. Does this mean she got the wrong WAC number? Cause I only told her my case number once.
Does pending mean that I have a long way to go?

Got an RFE for my wife's 485. My 485 LUD changed on the same day but nothing else (no RFE - no change in messages).
Is it possible that they are waiting for my wife's RFE response before they approve us together? Has anybody here had the same experience?
