j1 VISA AND THE 2 YEARS ROLES OF RESIDENCE

You can get No Objection waiver or Hardship waiver from State Dept. Check their website for details. It is a lengthy process of about 6 to 8 months from the moment you submit the request to State Dept. After that you have to go through your embassy to get the approval from you gov't that they...

Change of status while waiting for J1 waiver from INS

You are talking about Foreign Residency Waiver or No Objection waiver, right? If so, I'm not sure if it is the same for H1 and GC, but when I was going for my green card, I was told that I can't submit anything without getting the No Objection waiver first.

Please someone experienced help with this issue.

I agree with mfloress..any relative doesn't apply, only immediate family: parents and siblings, not even grandparents. But good thing is she cannot be denied just based on her disability because that would be discrimination. If she can, she should get an advice from the lawyer. Maybe there is...

Help me Lucy Mo or somebody

The money and stocks should be fine. Now if you stay in your F1 status and don't drop out of school, your status should be okay. In case they deny your application at the interview, you can just continue the F1 status. If you drop out of status, you will have problems going back into the US.

    FBI clearance

They do FBI check. If you want, you can get police certificate from the county sheriff you lived in US. But from others people experiences, it is not needed.

DV- Nativity through Spouse and J1 Waiver

Start the waiver process, because you will need it in either case. The sooner you start, the better chances you have. Once your embassy gets approval from your gov't, make sure they send the letter by Fedex so that you can get the signature confirmation.

    Dv-2005- Aos

From my experience in San Francisco, I've got EAD in March and my interview is at the end of June. Those are three months that I can work, rather then just sit and wait.

    Dv-2005- Aos

On the EAD it says that it's valid for 1 year, but if you are denied permanent residence, it will automatically become invalid because it was based on your permanent resident applciation. Pickup notice is a notice to go to local USCIS office to pick up your EAD. My biometrics were done at the...

    Dv-2005- Aos

Yes, you can file for EAD. I did it and when I got the receipt notice, I also got EAD pick up notice. The EAD is valid until you get to the interview. If interview goes well, you won't need EAD. If you are denied GC at the interview, your EAD will become invalid.

AOS under DV2005 -is it time to panic yet?

Call me shrek, I'm sorry but I don't think you understood my point. I didn't say attorneys are worth as much as they charge. My attorney charged a lot less then others, but is a great guy with a really good reputation at USCIS. The thing is this: I was in situation where I questioned wheather...

I actually found one person on a different board that got stamped right away in Boston office. It is weired, because after the usual AOS interview (not based on DV) you get stamped either right away or you schedule info pass to get it.

    DV2006 - H1 renewal

To be safe so that you don't go out of status and jeopardize your GC, extend H1 and once you get GC you will just abandon H1 and be a permanent resident.

    AOS approved! but....

If you are approved, you are approved. You will get the card in mail and that's it. The deadline is for approvals/interview. It means that by that date you must have an interview. It has nothing to do with arrival of your card. And yes, you can get stamp if you want to travel before getting the...
