No, I did not call the IIO. I tried for several days to get through to their number but of no avail. So, when I went for passport stamping I asked what I should do for change of address. The INS officer gave me a "Permanent resident inquiry form" (I don\'t remember the number...
Has anyone had their plastic cards forwarded to your new address after an address change? Does the USPostal service forward the green cards? Any input will be greatly appreciated. My card has already been sent by VSC. I haven\'t given a change of address to VSC.
Thanks in advance.

If your case is approved and you have an approval notice from VSC, the INS does not ask you any questions. Our (my wife included) passport stamping took less than 5 minutes. The lady at the counter asked for passports and past and current EAD cards and Advance Parole documents. Gave it...

I did not change job. I was laid off by the company. Luckily VSC did not ask for any employment letter and my case was approved while I was looking for a job. The company I worked for did not withdraw the gc application. But my situation was well before the INS published guidelines for...

I don\'t care whether they check my background. After I gave my SS#, this company lowered their salary and relocation package. Moreover, I think they use this SS# for tax purposes. If they want to write off some amount as interview costs against a SS# to reduce taxes. Anyway everyone...
The Indian companies that I interview with ask for Social Security no. in the very first phone call they make. Does anyone know what they do with the SS#?

Thanks for your reply. The guy Rohit who replied to my message actually works for that company. Don\'t pay on the bench - that sounds typical for an Indian company.
Does anyone know about a Desi company by name HTC Inc, based in Detroit Michigan? Did anyone have any kind of bad experiences?
Why do Indian companies ask for Social Security Number in the very first call they make?

Hello P_O. I was in the same situation as you are (or you will be). Since you have an EAD, you are NOT out of status. Since you have already completed 180 days you are safe too. The BIG question is what if you don\'t get a job. It has been the practice of VSC to ask for an employment...

Does anyone know about a company by name HTC Inc. The full name I think is Hi-Tech Consultant\'s Inc. How is this company? Why do Indian companies ask for SS# over the phone. No other American company asks for it.
Can someone in Ohio post their experience about how long it took for them to get the plastic card after passport stamping?
Also, has anyone given a change of address after passport stamping. What form did you use?
Thanks in advance for your reply

I agree with Ranjan. With an EAD you can work anywhere you want. Regarding opening a business --- it is dependent on State Laws. Ohio doesn\'t let a person on visa to start a company.
