    PIO for Asylee dependent

I need to apply PIO to Indian consulate for my minor and was wondering if it is ok to submit Green card as proof of legal status. The PIO form is asking to submit both parents legal status proof. I am a Citizen and so it my daughter but my wife is still Asylee dependent and has her green card...

    Indian visa after us citizen

So, what I am hearing from people's experiences is that consulate just keeps their Indian passport & don't issue visas. That's just unfair. Means asylee's can never get visas to visit their family back home. Irony is that the country which is giving asylum (basically a better life) is more...

Lawyer's comments on visiting home country after asylee adjustment

jonny1, You are right and wrong. Right because, yes as a citizen you won't be asked any questions at the port of entry and since you don't have to appear for any immigration interview after that you don't care. Wrong becuase you still lied about your situation to US immigration to stay here...

    Indian visa after us citizen

Then no wonder you didn't have a problem. The issue is with those who have "asylum granted" stamped on passport. Consulate is not issuing SC or visa to them or at least that's what I know.

    Indian visa after us citizen

I agree with you. I am willing to join also with my family if needed. One more suggestion is to hold rally in front of SFO office. No violence but peaceful protest. Let media cover it and the mean lady will have to take the heat.

COLORED copies of ID/Passport a must for I-485?

USCIS is usually very clear in its instructions. Look for instructions for I-485 and if it specifically ask for "Color copies" then you have to provide them. But i doubt they do. So, just send B/W copies.

    Indian PP Reneuval

You can go to consulate. They can't do anything except threat you. If they try to confiscate you passport tell them you need to talk to the Consul general and get it in writing that they are holding you passport. But don't go there will all you muscles flexed. First talk to them like a...

    naturalization question(citizenship)

Everyone files taxes even if you don't make money. That is the proof you need to show for your friend. If he has not filed taxes in the last years, your best bet would be to talk to a tax consultant and see he can file back taxes.

    Asylee applying for citizenship

It depends upon what did he show his status in the asylum application. If he showed himself as unmarried, i am not sure if can claim now that he was married and lied in the initial application. Also, uscis doesn't ask for any proof of marriage when you file asylum. They just ask for name of...

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant. what does that mean

It is possible. The document is usually posted within couple of weeks after approval. Read your email completely. It should say something like "Your permanent residence card was send on ..blah blah" don't remember exactly but it will give you enough information. Congrats !!!

Asylee N-400 Interview Experiences and 2009 Tracker

I passed my N-400 interview today. Very excited. Wow..end of a very long 9 year journey. Lot's of us getting interviews lately. It's like the baby boomer thing. I still remember the days when there was a 10,000 cap on the cases approved each year. Used to take 10 years or so to get GC. Just file...
