I was not sure whether INS orders the card as soon as ur case is approved. I was just wondering why do people talk about going to local office and stand in line for stamping rather than waiting for the card in mail?

Why is it required to get your pp stamped after approval? Does INS order the plastic card only after stamping? Can't you wait for 6 weeks if you have valid EAD and AP?
