Hi,
Thanks for reading this post. I am in a weird situation and need your suggestions. My 485s got approved a couple of weeks ago. Since I moved just several days earlier I called CIS to ask them to update my address. on the same day my friend at my old address told me that my card had come...
NC cleared after 20 Months and I-485 approved
Guys,
I have posted this in the main page but figured that I should share this with all NC victims especially. Thank you all for sharing your experience. It's been the greatest relief reading this thread while stucking in NC.
FYI, I got the...

guys,
I was working for a national lab, most of my friend there stuck in Name check. I myself has been stuck since 08/2004.
I got a feeling that the time for name check is related to one's job. I would like to do a survey here. can you please let us know how long it took for your name...
Just another silly joke made by those CIS officials
they are good at making this kind of joke, to "entertain" us who desperately waiting in the dark.
Did you move during the last few years? if you did you may have lost the notice.
Anyway I believe you'll be fine. Getting a lawyer might be...
Totally bullshit
at least half of my friends got stuck in namecheck, including me. I have been stuck for almost two years, most of my friends who got stuck got out of it only after 3 to 4 years.
and my feeling is that either you pass it in few months, or you stuck for years. very few get it...
Hi Hao,
Unfortunately I don't think I have more experience on this than you do. The good side is that I never heard anyone's NIW 485 was turned down due to job change. So I believe you'll be fine as long as you defend your case as hardly as you can.
Like all other RFEs for NIW, there is...
Hello,
From what I have heard that's a pretty standard I-485 RFE for NIW.
For #1, I think one substantial evidence, like H1 approval notice should be enough.
For #2, I would write a self-statement, get at least a letter from your current employer, and get a letter from your previous...
I heard that all your petitions stay at the service center which approved your I-140, no matter where you live. please correct me if this is wrong.
I am in the same situation as Compass. I now work and live in a state under different service center. my family still stays in my old address...
Foia
Congratuations, LCsilence.
A question: Did anyone request FOIA with FBI recently? did you send it by mail or FAX? I sent a fax two weeks ago and havent got a response. should I re-do it with regular mail? thanks for your information.
it means nothing according to my experience
I didn't mean to let you down but that's what I found for my case. see my post a couple weeks ago if you missed it.
Just keep trying
I called twice. the first one refused to tell me anything but the second one checked it for me immediately. I made the two call in consecutive days. I don't think they log this kind of inquiries.
I got my and my wife's LUD (no message change) on 11/30/05 and was hoping that's a indication of our name cheack being done (there should not be anythign trigger this LUD, and, the LUD of my son (5 years old) kept unchanged).
...To my dispointment, I got to know that our name check was not...
This is a substantial piece of news, if it is true. Did these guys ever think about the feelings of us? I mean, when the cut off date was current we need to wait for the damn name check, and now looks like their burden on name checking is lighter since less people can submit I-485, but we need...
Hi gurus,
I just got my NIW I-140 approved at VSC, ~3 weeks after I sent in my response to RFE. my I-485 RD was 8/12/04, which is exactly the I-485 processing date updated today in USCIS website. But I am wondering if the I-140 RFE will delay my I-485.
I also changed employer (under...
