You don't need to goto SS office to check whether your Citizenship Status was uodated , Just call SS's 1-800# and they should be able to tell you. I called and they told me "not updated".

Richmondva, I don't think your passport got processed in DC processing center as it services DC ,MD and few adjoining VA counties only... That probably explains why you got faster

aubonpain, No pun intended, but you seem to be a very optimistic person. Travel without a passport to India , as if they will allow you to enter, just because you have US Nat cert, and also entering US without a passport, just with Nat. Cert, seems impossible. You should get an appointment...

Tiranga008, Getting a BC from Indian Consulate/Embassy based on Passport seems to work. I think we should go ahead and do that as well.. -d4pk

Tiranga008, You can download DS10 and then open it with FOXIT Reader. You can then fill the form and then select the "TEXT" tool and highlight " in the United States" in point 1. Then right click and select " strikeout". It will print a Red Line over the 4 words and then you can get it executed...
