The 485 processing dates, in my opinion are saying this:
USCIS guarantees that all applications received prior to the date have been processed (whether approved, denied or RFE'd) -
It does not say that any applications received AFTER that date have NOT been processed..... clearly my receipt...

you can call them and ask why you have not heard anything yet.
Your PD is current for more a while now and according to USCIS processing dates, they are already processing april 05 cases, so you should have definitely heard something.
Like I said, call and ask them. There's a ph nos...

I believe it gets a little tricky when applying AC21 within same organization.
First and foremost, even when applying AC21, at least 50% of your job description should be same or similar to your original LC.
Granted, this is something you can work out with your employer.
However...

First off, talk to your immigration lawyer about the details but here is my understanding on this issue.
Yes, you will need to file an amendment to your H1-B or get a new H1-B whichever turns out to be the path suggested by your lawyer. Basically, by changing your responsibilities...

You will receive the card. It's yours not your employers.
You have not been dependent on your employer for a while...

Consular processing and adjustment of status are two mutually exclusive processes. Adjustment of status is when you use the form I-485, consular processing must have another form number to its name.
Depending on your circumstances its a personal choice to go one route vs another...

I dont think you have anything to be worried about, although once on GC you have to maintain 6 months presence in the US to maintain your permanent resident status. There is a form you can fill to ask for a 2 yr leave of absence to circumvent even that rule but I am sure you know...
