I have been working on TN in the US from 2015-2019 and then from 2021-2023 I worked for the same vendor from Canada (but via my Canadian incorporated company) - can the vendor now file my L1 for working in the US.

I am a Canadian citizen. I have worked on TN (as management consultant) with a vendor for sometime . Can the vendor now file for a L1 or do I need to have worked for that vendor outside the US for a year and only then the vendor can file for my L1. Let me know.

My degree is a Bachelor of commerce (From India) - it is evaluated They are trying to file under CSA - but mentioning the duties of a Software Engineer ... becoz that's what my offer letter says... They don't want me to take the offer letter to the border which is ok ...but if you are filing...

Thank you Nelsona for the quick response. Then does the TN application need to mention my Start Date? The lawyers are filing my TN under CSA . Under the main responsibilities and duties they mention: I will be developing / maintaining and troubleshooting software ...do these qualify under CSA ?

In all my previous 4-5 visits to the border - an Offer letter has been part of my documentation along with the TN application. For my new offer - the company Lawyers say that the an offer letter is not part of the standard documentation for a TN application and hence they do not want me to take...

That's true Nelsona !!! I never realized my situation would come to the extent of filing via I-129 ...my employer/agency took it so easy...they were waiting on the PO from the client to know whether the contract would really get extended ...

Thanks Nelsona ..well i am not aware of an I-129 ..just trying to understand ..so an I-129 has to be filed before the expiry of my TN ... and you are saying that a TN approval cannot be filed/obtained online?...so once an I-129 is filed does a TN still have to be filed ? How long can I continue...

Thanks for sharing your experiences ..however I am in the US and with the new restrictions in Canada ...all my original documents are in Canada don't find it safe to get someone to send my originals to US ...my TN expires on 30th Jan 2021 ...and the employer has decided to file for TN extension...

Thanks. how does the filing of the I-129 with the USCIS work...would the I-129 be mailed to you ...or do we still have to show up somewhere to present our documents? Is there any additional cost for this option and what is the time frame?
