Do I need to send back my RTD with the application?

Hello everyone, I am an asylee with GC, My RTD expires in OCT, and I am planing to travel to Germany this Aug. The German immigration requires min of 4 months of validation the RTD. So can I renew my RTD now even if its not expired?? Please respond, Best Regards
