Do we need our passport for the interview?

First of all, why are you getting visa on a passport from the country of your current citizenship? After interview and oath, you would be US citizen. Would your current citizenship and passport still be valid after becoming USC?

Denied Boarding to US Bound Flight in Vancouver, Canda

I really doubt there would be any bearing to removal, exclusion or deportation from US. In 2003, you did not enter US and didn't even interact with US Immigration. You were denied entry into the flight by airlines/non-US Govt since you didn't a valid visa to land in US. You did noting illegal.

Failure To File Taxes And N-400

First of all, on what basis are you applying for N400. 3 year married to USC or 5 year on PR. If 5 years on PR, it probabily doesn't matter if you filed seperately or joined. But if 3 years married to USC, it probabily does matter.

Travel to India: Catch 22 Situation

I totally agree with madh4. I know of a case where someone tried this. Immigration at India asked for return tickets and checked Indain PP to see US visa status/GC. On telling the USC status there was threat of arrest. Anyway, even if you are not arrested, this would cost you $250 more...

So, what civics questions were you asked?

For the interview there are just few exact numbers we need to remember: When was the Declaration of Independence adopted? July4,1776 When was the Constitution written? 1787 How many amendments does the Constitution have? 27 How many voting members are in the House of Representatives? 435...

Question for those who applied for the passport book and card separately

Congratulations Jackolantern, I have interacted with you over few years. Was wondering if you ever applied for USC since your signature always says I-485. Anyway, I just checked my passport card and it's valid for exactly 10 years from the date it was issued. I had applied for both card...

We have had a very good experience at Seattle office. We were considering name change but were worried that it would become a judicial oath and push the oath to a later date (instead of the normal same day oath at Seattle FO). During interview, requested name change just to find out what...

    2013 May N 400 Tracker

halivingston, we are going for interview in about 10 hours from now. The letter says bring your DL or any other government issued photo id. So, basically DL is just a photo id to identify you. They do nothing with DL. As for GC, they take GC away during interview.

CalGreenCard, Couple of comments to your reply. He would be able to enlist as a GC, but if he wants to become an officer, he would need to be USC. Like DUI and BUI, is there also a term called FUI :) Flying under influence

application rejected due to lack of signature

We tried doing walkin FP in the morning one day but they said the wait for an FP without appointment at Tukwila Center was about 5 hours. It's about 20 miles drive from Bellevue and with traffic it was not worth doing multiple trips between office and Tukwila so we didn't wait. Anyway, on the...

application rejected due to lack of signature

No big deal. My spouse's application got rejected couple of months back since we missed couple of page in N400 application. I think page 6 or 7. Anyway, they sent the whole package back along with 2 orange sheets signifying we missed 2 pages. They also returned the check. The page also had...

    name change during interview

My understanding is, if you request name change when filling N400, you are queued for Judicial oath. Did you request for name change when filling N400 or decided to do name change while at interview? Did you have to fill any forms for name change or just asked IO to change name?
