I would say yes especially if you donate money to the organization and put it on your tax return. I disclosed it along with other organizations like Red Cross I have ever given money just to be on the safe side.

I 100% agree with you. However the child's GC will be needed for the passport application based on my understanding. If his GC has incorrect biographical information it may or may not be accepted as proof of LPR. I guess the OP will find it out... ;)
