On a cruise (Bahamas) using RTD/ no green card.

Whether you got lucky or not we'll never know. But this is yet another example of Consulate and border controls disconnect. I had the same experience years ago when i was traveling to Europe, I called 3 different consulates for Spain and got 3 different answers. I don't think she is...

    Asylum granted! What's next?

Congratulations on your asylum win! TRAVELING: I traveled to Europe during my 1 year waiting period after being granted asylum. Depending on where you are traveling you may need a visa. You do need either a RTD or a Re-entry Permit, both are used in place of a passport. The first time you...

Can this issue be a basis for Asylum?

Dear Dexter, While each case is very very different, the best advice is from a lawyer that has had experience with Asylum applicants. The broader the lawyer's experience the better for you. According to USCIS: Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they...

    VISA Information for Countries

Unfortunately for me the Spanish consulate at the time did not have any clear answer. I did go to my local consulate with all the paperwork just to be told that I didn't need a visa based on my country of citizenship. After my local consulate turned me away, I called other consulate offices...

I-589 rejected, how to fill form I-140 Part 4

jonny1, relax man...this person is asking how to answer a question, NOT whether or not he/she should lie to USCIS. greentrack, a petition for asylum is not a petition for an immigrant visa, however, i'm sure kinder and more knowledgeable forum participants will put their two cents in. best...
