Update -
Last week, I scheduled an appointment and visited Newark, NJ with my dad. As per them they have still not received my parents file and hence cannot do anything. Upon asking them, what should we do in this case, the immigration officer suggested me to call up customer service or do a...
I just got off the phone with USCIS and as per them, Newark field office is processing applications from May 2016. Just wait till you hear anything. When I asked how long should I wait before I can inquire back, she said she has no idea. Is this real? Normally how long should we wait to hear...
No updates on I-130. All it states is that they have received my application for I-130 and have mailed me a receipt. Please follow instructions as listed in the receipt.
I filed for my parents (in NJ) in Jan 2017. Finger prints were done in Feb 2017. Current status says, "As of April 10, 2017, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule...
I filed my parents I-485 back in January 2017. They are here on visitor visa and their I-94 end date is May 20, 2017. Their fingerprint got over in Feb 2017. But haven't heard from USCIS since then. As present the USCIS status reads "As of April 10, 2017, we are ready to schedule your Form...
I did send in my parents application in 2 separate envelopes with their names and contents written on the envelope. Than I put these 2 envelopes in USPS box and shipped to Chicago lock box. I've received 2 receipts (I-130 and I-485) for my dad but nothing on my mom. Also USCIS have only deducted...
The problem here is - my grand parents were born somewhere in 1920's in some rural village and there was no proper documentation practice at that time in India. Also both are deceased decades ago. Can I write "UNKNOWN" under DOB section and "DECEASED" under place of birth section?
Any guidance...
Thanks for your help.
One more questions - Form g-325a is asking for my parent's parents date of births. My parents do not remember their parents DOB. What can be done in this case? Can I leave it blank?
My apologies for asking incomplete question. Do I need to add a copy of my US passport and my birth certificate along with I-485?
For fees, do I need to send in 1 single check of $1490 or I need to put in 2 separate checks of $1070 (985 + 85) and $420?
I am filing adjustment of status for my parents. What do I provide as evidence of eligibility? My birth certificate which has their names on it and copy of my US passport?
I guess in that case I should prepare 2 separate packages each consisting of I-130, I-485, I-864, Fees, photos, all supporting documents and mail them out in 1 box. Hmmmm.....
Hello All,
My parents are currently in US and I am planning to file their green card soon. As far as I know, I need to

4. All supporting documents as suggested in instructions for all the above listed 3...
Hello,
I applied for my sons OCI back in Apr but during this long weekend I got the whole package back (minus the money order). It took couple of phone calls and emails to get my refund issued in full and I should expect it soon in next few days.
During this email conversation I asked Indian...
I have opened a ticket last week and am checking the status on daily basis but still no work has been done on it.
The new phone number is working it seems as I was able to speak to a human being based here in Chicage (as per the customer service rep),. All they were able to do is check the...
Hello,
Here my story in short.
I applied for OCI and renunciation on Dec 15, 2013 via Fedex but did not see any status on BLS website till Jan so had to take a day off and go to NY in person on Jan 15 2014 to check on the application. After about 7 hours of wait I got a receipt from them...
