I am going to file I-130 for my son who is over 21 years old i.e. in F2B category. I will naturalize to US citizen in about 4 years, at which point I will upgrade the petition to F1.
My question:
Is it safer for my wife and I to file two seperate I-130 petitions for my son?
My reasoning...
You need to find a co-sponser who makes the intended income. Or your sponser needs to start a working, even if it is at Target or Walmart.
If your sponser / co-sponser can not provide a history of minimum income level, just providing current paystubs (adding up to the minimum yearly income)...
I am a US citizen and my parents are LPR.
I sent I-130 for my brother (over 21, unmarried, i.e. F4) in Oct. 2008. My parents recently became LPR and filed another I-130 for my brother in Sep. 2009. Once they become US citizens, they plan to upgrade their petition to F1.
My question is...
Is it true that NVC only schedules interviews in second week of each month? I am about to send the DS 230 to NVC and I am wondering if it is too late for this cycle.
Thanks
You should email the New Delhi embassy IV section ans ask them what the best thing to do is.
My parents' interview is in Mumbai. I emailed the Mumbai IV section and they responded that I should submit all original documents with DS 230 to the NVC. They will be forwarded to the US Consulate in...
I recieved a copy of the DS3032 from NVC, along with the Affadavit of Support form package.
I faxed the DS3032 form to my parents. They signed and faxed it back to me and then I mailed it to NVC (seperately from the Affadavit of Support). They accepted it and reflected the status as DS3032...
LucyMO you are not correct entirely.
It is true that his brother can not be included in his Parents' petition as a derivative. Immediate Relative category does not allow derivative status.
However, once his parents get their Green Card (after petition is approved and they adjust status or...
Longer than usual wait for NVC case number
The petition I-130 I filed for my parents was approved by USCIS (CSC) on 2/27/2009.
NVC still has no record of this case. I checked using the automated phone number.
From reading this thread, it seems like NVC assigns case number pretty quickly...
My parents I-130 approved
My parents I-130 was approved today. I recieved an email from CRIS system.
The petition was pending at CSC. Looks like they are really moving :-)

Information will be very useful
Hi badprapan2,
That information will be very useful to people like me. I have petitioned for my parents in India.
Currently, I am trying to understand how my parents would go about getting the Police Clearance Certificate from passport office in India...
Seperate I-864 forms are needed for each parent since they are on seperate petitions.
If I follow the I-864 instructions strictly, then in determining the household size for the Affidavit of Support, I should only include 1 beneficiary in each I-864 form.
1. Is this what everyone else has...
I will be grateful if anyone with experience with consular processing of Immigrant Visa for parents in Mumbai would share their experience.
I (petitioner, living in US) will be acting as an agent for my parents (beneficiaries)
Specifically, I have following questions regaring Mumbai...
I wonder why they asked for your (petitioner's) marriage certificate. That is very odd right?
Maybe I'll just include my Marriage Certificate with the DS230. On one hand they ask you not to include extra documents and on the other they ask for unrelated stuff!
Thanks for the info.
It may seem odd to go into so much detail, but I have learnt to double check everything when it comes to immigration. So, I have a follow up question.
1. You parents signed a physical copy and sent it directly from there country, right?
2. Do you know if they will accept a fax copy of the...
