YAY! glad to hear things are moving now gnr & sweetcity :)
I should be sending in I-129F tomorrow. Got the flu BAD so have since been unable to do anything wif the papers I had waited so long for haahaa
Got my notices in the mail!! YAY!!
Seems some folks get their checks cashed and then wait for notices, while others of us have checks cashed and notices mailed out at pretty much the same time.
gnr5, I hate to say this but I am glad to hear I'm not alone. I hate it for both of us, but at least it does not seem my case is unique...or yours for that matter. I guess you could say this news makes me breathe a little easier.
Hang in there :o
Well that is the problem. Four weeks and there IS no case...nothing. All I know is that someone signed for the packages when they were delivered.
Thanks for your encouragement tho, it's most appreciated.
Man, I just called and they say there is nothing they can tell me in regards to why checks have not been cashed or anything.
How very frustrating! Why is it that so many who have filed weeks after me have at least had checks cashed?
I guess I'll wait a week and call again :(
Gah! I read this JUST too late. I just sent papers off and put only her maiden name in there, I did not write "wife" nor did she write "husband" in for mine.
Ah well, we'll see how picky they are in a couple weeks I suppose. Strangely I feel OK about it all.
Thanks for answering, at...
On line 4 of the G-325A where is asks for info on my spouse, it asks for family name (maiden name for wife) but there are TWO sections that can be typed in on the .pdf that can be filled out.
Does this mean I put in ONLY her maiden name, or her legitimate legal surname AND her maiden name...
I am filling out an I-130 for my wife who resides in and is a citizen of South Africa. She was born in Rhodesia and immigrated to South Africa in 1979.
Question C16 on the I-130 asks if my relative has ever been under immigration proceedings so obviously I will mark "yes."
Under the...
Yah, that's kind of what I was afraid of. I think I'll rather wait for the documents to get to me before filing then. Birth certificates in their home country can take as many as three months to obtain. I'd rather play it safe. Thanks a LOT joeie!
Hello,
I have been gathering necessary documents to file I-130 for wife and step-son (they both reside outside the US)
I seem to have everything in order according to USCIS instructions for filing the I-130 but do not yet have a birth certificate for step-son or wife showing both parent's...
Yes Cedric, the above is what you will need. Good luck and let me know if you would like that additional info on the marriage certificate and I'll PM it to you as it includes a contact name and telephone number.
Hi Cedric,
Congratulations :)
Here is what was needed from my side:
-US Passport with your Temporary Residence Permit stamp (you will get this when you enter SA)
-One passport photo (take a couple just in case)
-Any documentation of previous marriages being legally terminated or death...
Hello,
Could someone please tell me if my wife's birth certificate will be needed for immigration and if so does it have to include both her parent's names on it?
thank you
Hello folks,
I have read that I will need an unabridged birth certificate to sponsor my stepson, so that has us wondering...
Am I going to need a copy of my wife's birth certificate at any stage of the process? If so, will it also need to show both parent's names on it?
It will be next to...
