    I have entered the US 3 times with NP and GC of which 2 I went to my COP, and i was asked no questions whatsoever. My wife is AS6 also but from a different country, she used travel document, and she was always asked for her NP. I am from Colombia, and my wife is from Venezuela.

    i don't think that "not liking your job" is enough cause for unemployment benefits... I still haven't come across the first person that considers that he/she is getting paid too much.

    If they allow you to apply for citizenship 3 months before completing 5 years of being a PR because they're taking the processing time into consideration, what would happen if you apply sooner than that.. Let's say a year, to be on the safe side, so when your application is up for processing...

    Great idea !!! Yes, let's use this thread only to share related experiences, but not opinions, just to avoid the endless discussion. (there are plenty of threads to do so). I traveled to COP (Colombia) with GC+NP, after 7.5 yrs. At POE i was asked no questions whatsoever. I am AS6.

    I think we are overseeing the most important detail: the US goverment doesn't owe us anything. Being a PR is not a right. It is a priviledge. USCIS has a lot of flaws, they'll give us lots of hardtimes and headaches, but carrying that little plastic card feels good. Just watch the news...

    It is my understanding that if you bring an interpreter to your interview, that person should not be related to you. I don't know how they can prove that, though.

    I bet USCIS can terminate anyone's permanent resident status, regardless how it was obtained (asylum, marriage to US citizen, etc...), so as long as you don't break the law, and pay your taxes, you'll be alright.

    Sorry about that... I was explaining how IO's in Colombia are not familiar with RTD's, so everytime they are presented with one of them, they have to call their supervisors, but they do recognize RTD's.
