    J-1 waiver and attorney

I agree, hiring an attorney is a waste of money. The waiver process is pretty much straightforward, just follow the directions on the DOS website. I just recently obtained a waiver, via the TX state conrad 30, with no attorney. Of course, God made it all happen, however, the process is...

    J1 Waiver - H1

I guess your best bet is to start the J1 waiver process as you have done, and come April 2007, if the waiver process is not completed, process the H1 concurrently, most likely you would be done with J1 waiver by then though.

Difficult times - my mom is alone - please HELP.

i would not give up on the possibility of a B2 visa, if i were you, these issues are so subjective, its very possible that your mum can get a visa, its up to the discretion of the consular officer. If she has a job, have her obtain a letter from her employers that state that she is currently...

j2 to hi- is it possible?

I'm not sure you can get an H1 without evidence of your husband fulfilling the 2 yr HRR or obtaining a waiver, your best bey may be getting J1 on your own merit, but that subjects you to a 2yr HRR.

Difficult times - my mom is alone - please HELP.

I would get her to apply for a B2 if I were you, especially if you want her to visit soon, the GC approach too is OK, however you need to bear in mind that means she will not be coming anytime soon because (1) you have to first get your citizenship, the timing of this not guaranteed (2) though...

j2 to hi- is it possible?

#1- your j2 status expires when your husband's j1 status expires. #2 - re: residency, you should try and apply to programs that sponsor either j1 or h1, preferably the latter, however ur husband's waiver situation may affect your ability to get h1, as his 2yr HRR will affect you too.

The main issue here is your ability to maintain your parents while they are with you, I think with or without a job,, you do stand a good chance as long as you are able to show a recent bank statement showing adequate funds, $70,000 in my opinion is more than adequate, in addition to them also...

    I-94 Question

I think you should address this issue through and through before your parents return, cos not having I94 removed by airline automatically equals not leaving the US and overstay as far as USCIS is concerned. This has potential problems for the future eg if they need a new visa, apply for green...
