    Folks, Do we need to carry the OCI document when we travel to India for a brief vacation (<2 months)? Since the US passport already has the "lifelong" visa, what's the point of carrying OCI booklet?

    Brian, In NY DO (Federal Plaza), the oath letter is given 30-45 mins after you pass the interview, with the oath date typically on the following Friday. If you see my wife's timeline, she has Oath 4 days after interview, as opposed to 9 days for me.

    What is the "average" waiting time between Interview and Oath Letter ?

    Sorry, no idea. My understanding is that NYC DO conducts regular oath ceremony every friday -- but have no clue about court oath.
