N-400 denial: do you acknowledge or not?

To VALIKO: Instead of getting into all the legal requirements, why not think of this objectively? From your posts, you are 30+ yrs old female. I don't want to be condescending, but you can be assured that US military is not asking you to bear arms. Women do not serve in combat roles in US...

    Norfolk DO Tracker

Mine was Norfolk too. As long as your name check goes fine, it took me about 4.5 months from the day I mailed the application to the day I took the oath. As far as I know, Norfolk is not really overcrowded with naturalization applications and things move at decent pace. Also, if you are coming...

    is it true???

The online case status on USCIS website says that my dad's N400 application is in Vermont Service Center. But, vermont center does not have processing dates for N400 application. He did his fingerprint one year ago and his case has still not moved to district office?

    is it true???

Yeah, I would like to know that too. There is a lot of information on what you can do after your interview, but what if your fingerprints are done and you never get called for an interview. It's been almost a year for my dad since his fingerprints and he never got a call for interview.

White House Wants To Eliminate Family Based Greencards

dr_lha and others are good posters and I don't mean to personally attack anyone here. However, not all H1 workers are 'skilled.' The biggest reason they are hired is to lower the salary of domestic workers. They can get PhD candidates and other smart researchers but they are getting people...

White House Wants To Eliminate Family Based Greencards

Seems like a bad political move. No one wants to loose votes over this. Decreasing family visas and increasing the controversial H1 visas will only make it more controversial.

White House Wants To Eliminate Family Based Greencards

That's messed up because my family came here based on that :p I think it's too harsh not to allow people to sponsor their spouse, children (adult or not), parents. Not allowing brothers and sisters is understandable. They keep cutting down family based immigration and keep increasing work visa's.

Several personal concerns on N-400 application...

WoW! I was lucky :p This reminded me of when I saw voter registration application in public library and tried to fill it out. The first question was about being US citizen. At age 15, I wasn't really sure if I was citizen or not. However, I put down the application when the next questions...

Anyone with a lawsuit against USCIS or thinking about a lawsuit (Merged)

The information here is extremely detailed, but I am little confused. My dad got his fingerprints done in June 2006 and never got any letter for citizenship interview. It's been almost a year. Can he file the lawsuit even if he has not been called for interview? Is there anything that...

    n400 question

I am not sure if those processing dates are correct. My Norfolk office is processing N400 application that were recieved in April 2006. I applied in May 2006 and took my oath in September 2006.

    Indian embassy mailing charges?

I can't believe that for almost any paperwork you mail to Indian embassy in US you have to pay for your own mailing charges. So what the hell those high fees cover? Instead giving instruction on how to include self addressed envelope or cash/money order for mailing charges, why can't they...

    US passport name change documentation

I applied for my US passport few days ago. This is my first US passport. I had a name change long time ago and all the documents have my new name. Do I still need to send name change court order since they ask for previous names used? Also, my father got his fingerprints done back in June...

    Getting married in India

As long as you do your homework and contact the US embassy in India who will help with the legal requirements, I really don't see a need for getting a lawyer. If your case is straighforward, the lawyer will just charge you hefty fees for filling out paperwork.

Anyone with a lawsuit against USCIS or thinking about a lawsuit (Merged)

If your fingerprints were done long time ago but you recieved no letter for interview. How long you have to wait before you can file for the lawsuit??

New Electronic passport to all public from August 14th, 2006

I have seen some people paying a lot of money for expedited passport right after they become citizens or mailing their documents overnight shipping :p If you are in hurry it's understandable, but otherwise it's just a waste of money :o

Post your name if you had a problem with JoeF

You guys are bullshitting too much. From what I know, JoeF is knowledgeable and helpful member. Others are helpful too. But, I think allegations of anyone being racist are not true. I think JoeF and other people need to cool off. I say both are guilty.

    N400 selective services problem

You can explain your situation to them. Prior to receiving your green card, how long you were in the country? If you just came here and were not familiar with the laws, then you can make a strong case. You said you received green card 4 days after your birthday, show them the mail letter if...
