Stamping the passport for an O-1 visa approved earlier

I am posting this on behalf of my girlfriend, who had her O-1 approved a few months ago. We were planning to travel to Madrid from US for a vacation and stamp the visa in her passport in the embassy there, having brought all the approval documents with us from US. I just read a few horror...

Advice needed on a lawyer in IL area

Could anyone recommend a lawyer with experience in EB2 or EB1 related cases? We live in Champaign-Urbana, IL. Or if I am posting under the wrong service center, please let me know. I got my GC a while ago, this is for my friend and I don't know much about IL.

    Correcting first name spelling

Thank you for your thoughts, guys. This is rather my error than USCIS's. The attorney came up with a primitive solution - file I90 for a name change, pay $325, and wait at least 5 months. This would actually put me back in security check, I believe. Thanks, but no, thank. The attorney's...

gaz12, you are not reading me. The question is what does it take to correct what's in I485.

    Correcting first name spelling

What's g-325? I485 is for Antuon. I don't know what the first visa has, and nobody will ever know, this was too long ago. I can come up with maybe 5 more different phonetic transcriptions of my name. Anton is used here as a hypothetical example, this is not my real name. If I were less stupid 15...

    Correcting first name spelling

I wonder if anybody ever dealt with a similar situation as mine. The USCIS has my first name spelled in a slightly ackward way. This was a result of an original misprint in my very first passport that I used on my very first entry into USA, 15 years ago. Let's say my first name is Anton, but...

Need GC to renew driver's license in Michigan

Maybe another good idea would be to shut down graduate schools and research centers throughout the state of Mitchigan, because those attract too many foreigners. Also the foreign nationals that are already in the state but are unwilling to move out should wear patches that say "ALIEN" or...

    Planning to sue USCIS.....need help???

I hope they help you get out of this, Azazello. And I just want to encourange people one more time. Even a namecheck should not stop you from filing WoM. FBI were among the defendants in my case and they did not even fight back.

    Planning to sue USCIS.....need help???

mine was filed in NY eastern court less than 2 months ago.

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

Correct. There was no hearing and I did not see any order from the judge either. The only thing that happened is the defendants placed a motion to extend all the deadlines in the suit (including the hearing) by two months and the motion was approved. Nobody had to go to court.

...AND! If you guys are in NYC area (or beyond), Zwaik's office even have several people dedicated to WoM. I worked with them. See them here: http://www.zwaik.com or call 1-631-588-4040, ask to speak with Vanessa Zwaik. I know it looks commercial, but I promissed the girl I'd tell you about her.

...and seriously, while they still respect federal courts at USCIS and FBI, we should take the chance and take some initiative. Look, they don't even listen to the first lady anymore. And the bill that was partially signed that grants 20,000,000 towards NC backlg reduction is not even in effect...

Maybe it's not related to WoM. But I still like to savor the idea that I stick it to the man. :D And I would not be so optimistic about their efforts cleaning up the mess. Whatever they do in USCIS and FBI it is always under the veil of "titanic efforts to clear the backlogs". I spent 7 years...

Thank you, guys. My wish to those old-timers still waiting - file the WoM and end this nonsense once and for all.
