Unfortunately it is true. 140 is employers petition and you can't ask about that. Some employers don't even give the the EAC number for 140. Stupid but true. you have hand on 485 onwards
When you apply for citizenship. I think it is 5 yr after GC, whether it is 5 yr after 485 approval or 5yr after GC stamp or 5yr after card received. Sometimes these 3 dates are closed but sometimes not. Is there any continous stay requirement for applying citizenship. It is too early to ask all...
Any Logic behind magic number of 6 months!
I totally do NOT understand the highly publicized 6 months logic. I want to ask about its source. Is it some guidance from USCIS memo or something. Why 6 month justify permanent intent but 4 or 5 months not.
I will appreciate if someone can put a...
Changing job before 6 months safe!
I consulted a Lawyer sometime back and he told that staying with sponsoring company for 6 months is thing for old days.
Now after AC21 it does not matter as long as you you are in similar field .
What is the opinion of other buddies, I want to change the Job...
welcome notice
I received 485 approval notice and got the passport stamped. Few days ago message chaged that card is ordered.
But I never recd "welcome notice" what is that.
1. How safe is change job before 6 months of GC approval. I am desperate to change my job .
2.I forgot to surrender one of my EAD (recent one) during passport stamping. How serious it is . Do I need to go there again and tell this or it is just OK as they asks EADs as they are of no use to us...
I think Srichlam, is right, passport stamping does not depend on expiry of passport as it got GC stamped without issue though it was expiring in 4-5 months.
Though I have a question, I forgot to give one of my EAD (the latest EAD), should it create any problem or they just take EADs are those...
My 485 is approved recently and my passport is expiring within 5 months. Will I be able to get GC stamp? Some persons suggested that you must have at least 6 months on your passport to get GC stamp on the passport. Others say that it does not matter as long as passport is not expired on the day...
Thanks, this means I should get GC stamped first and then renew the passport. I think there should not be need to get GC get stamped into the new passport (until GC stamp is expired) as I shall be travelling with both the passport (expired and the new one) and the expired passport will have...
If this is the case you will be getting new passport soon. Do you need to get GC stamped in new passport as somewhere I read in these forums that you will need to get GC stamped in new passport to work here. My passport is expiring in next 5 months and it seems (from experience to some people)...
Can anyone else also comment on the expiry date on passport for GC stampling. If this is true I should rush for passport renewal as it is less than 6 months left there.
My priority date was Dec 2003 / EB2
Regarding LUD, it was finger print recd.. and it changed to 485 approved.
Yesterday the online message changed stating that my 485 has been approved. Thanks to people in this forum for providing useful information and patience in this long journey. I was almost set to use AC21 but I shall wait for sometime as it is approved.
I still have some questions:
1. What...
I just got mail showing 485 is approved. I was considering to change the job using AC21. Is it still OK to change the job now or I should wait for 6 months with sponsoring company.
Since I am getting better salary in joining other full time job. Now my concern is to go with the plan and use...
This is what my lawyer told and I understood. He told that now one need not stick to a particular employer after 485 past 6 months. But one should be working in same area and in same job title. His view was that it does not matter that you send AC21 document or not but you should be able to...
IL_LABOR,
Please post your progress. I get worried seeing your post. Did you submitted AC21. Didn't you already sent your Job offer letter with same job title to USCIS.
