Hi all,
I am a US citizen and right now my wife and I reside in Canada as permanent residents. I have prepared the relevant documents to submit with my I-130 application, I would like a second pair of eyes from you to make sure I cover everything:
1) Cover letter
2) I-130 form
3) G-325A...
Thank you Jackolantern. No it doesn't hide any unemployment, I usually work on a few jobs at a time. BTW, is unemployment a problem with citizenship application?
Hi all,
I got my US citizenship late last year, but recently when I went back and looked at the N400 I submitted, I notice there was an error on the dates for two of the contract work I listed in the employment history. For example, instead of 2007, I had it down as 2006 for one of the jobs...
Hi, all
Right now I am preparing to file for I-130 for my wife.
I got my US citizenship this year, right now my wife and I are residing in
Canada as Canadian permanent residents.
My goal is to be with my wife as much as possible and get her to states as soon
as possible so we can...
Thank you all. If I understand you correctly, there is no need to go I-485 if I just do I-130 and get an immigration visa after I-130 is approved.
I like your idea of doing it carefully than rushing it, and that's what I will do. Where can I find more info on this forum on all the documents I...
Thanks Trucken and Lazycis. I have been desperately looking for some advice but it seems like most of the pros are leaving people like us out. :)
Lazy, I am sorry I mis-stated my question (2). I already got my citizenship, and I am trying to figure out if it makes a difference to the waiting...
I asked about how to petition for wife to come in another section of this forum and have gotten no response so far. I really miss the energy and quick help offered by everyone in the Citizenship section, and not seeing the regulars in the other sections of this forum makes me feel I am in a...
Try to get a job in Canada and have them apply a work permit for you so you can be there right away.
Check with a lawyer on this of course to make sure it's ok given that you have a family-based case going on.
Hi all,
I am a US citizens and me and my wife will be having our Canadian PR soon. Question: Can I apply Green Card for her (I-130) given her Canadian PR status? Will there be any issue during the consular processing/interview in Montreal?
Report your stolen passports and green card to your local police department. Get a police report on that, you will need it.
Passport (I assume India here):
Head over to your immigration office and get yourself a new passport.
US Green Card:
Head to the US embassy to apply for a replacement...
Hi guys, I am trying to file I-130 for my wife and my lawyer charged me so much that I have decided to do it myself. The downside is I am worried I may make mistakes and cause my wife not to be able to come. We have separated for more than three years and I really would like her to be with me...
Sorry I should have asked this -- what's the advantage of doing this? Seems like extra work to me (having to wait in line and stuff) Is this a one-time thing or I should register every time I visit a country (or the same country).
I applied for my passport and was told that there is no need to apply for passport card unless you commute a lot to Canada or Mexico as it is quite limiting and won't result in faster processing when crossing the border to Canada or Mexico. Also, someone in this forum mentioned that you have to...
Hi all, please excuse me for a long post. We really need your help on this.
My wife and I have separated for more than three years since we got married because I didn't know it would be so hard to get her here based on my green card until after marriage. I just became a citizen recently and...
Hi, if we move after obtaining citizenship, do we need to notify USCIS about this? What about Passport Agency?
Or more generally, what are all the places we need to notify (aside from personal things such as credit card companies, etc.)?
