Don' waste your time with interim EAD. Although it says USCIS will provide it but they won't. I took the appointment and went there and I was told that it was no longer issued and all we can do is wait. Althought law says EAD decision should be given to pending asylum within 30 days, they still...

Be mentally, physically , emotionally and economically ready to wait for years in worst case which is the trend right now.

Nothing you can do but wait for clock to reach 150 days and apply for EAD. Once, its 180 days, you will get your EAD. Check with AO office if they can adjust the clock if its a mistake on their end.

Why don't you contact your AO and inquire on the status. It is really odd that DMV would have or provide that information.

If its the first one, then its free but if its a second one then you have to pay the fee of $380.
